Updates on seller protection due to Turkey & Syria earthquake

Last update: 17 February 2023

Information is constantly updated

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria has profoundly impacted the region's economy: it affected international transportation, led to shipments delays and other issues. That’s why eBay has applied protection for Turkey as a country of origin and destination.

If you currently have items in transit from Turkey

For transactions or orders shipped from Turkey with handling dates falling within the period from 01.02.2023 till 28.02.2023, eBay will automatically protect your seller performance, including:

  • Your late shipment rate
  • Your valid tracking upload rate
  • “Item not received” cases due to late delivery
  • Defects resulting from transactions you canceled
  • Negative or neutral feedback from these transactions

The extended Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) for shipments from Turkey to a number of countries is effective:

  • Economy International Shipping — 15 business days on top of existing
  • Standard International Shipping — 10 business days on top of existing
  • Expedited International Shipping — 5 business days on top of existing

Countries of destination:

  • USA
  • UK
  • Germany
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain

The extended EDD is effective until March 31, 2023. For any seller who cannot ensure the item is delivered ahead of the above extended estimated time window, eBay might suggest explaining the situation to the buyer and cancel the transactions as soon as possible.

eBay will also remove all negative or neutral seller feedback on these transactions.
