Olga lives in Czech Republic and is the owner of the ScaraBeads store. Before starting her business, she was a housewife and a mother, who strived for self-fulfilment, professional development, and financial independence. 10 years ago she first tried selling overseas on eBay and realized that it brings her great joy of communicating with clients from all over the world, and excitement whenever a purchase is made on the other side of the world. Back then, her business was basically a couple of boxes, which has now transformed into an office building with a warehouse and a team that spans across the world.

In 2009, Olga moved to the Czech Republic from Russia, while on maternity leave. At that time she realized that being a housewife was not enough for her and that she wanted to secure financial independence and do something else besides household chores. She started consulting and looking for opportunities. Thanks to her friends with experience in selling on the marketplace, Olga found out how it works and decided to try eBay.

After several months of selling Czech orthopedic products, Olga switched to Czech beads, which, as it turned out, were known all over the world for their beauty, quality, and variety. At first, she perceived it only as a hobby, but it brought her great pleasure and relaxation; a breakf rom routine household chores, the joy of communicating with clients from all over the world, and excitement whenever a purchase was made on the other side of the world. She immersed herself in the world of Czech beads, enriching her inventory, and after a couple of years, the hobby began to generate income.

An enterprise that only started out with a couple of boxes has transformed into an office building with a warehouse. Today the store offers around 5,000 units of beads, from classic forms to the trendiest new styles. The business grew from a family one and the team now spans the world. Buyers also come from a variety of countries, mostly the USA, Israel, and Australia.

“The indescribable beauty of Czech beads created by our craftswomen, and interaction with the clients is what keeps me inspired to this day, from the time when I received my first order 10 years ago”, Olga says. “I hope that this story will encourage other women who are worried that they will not be able to reconcile family life and running their own businesses. I made it, and the others can as well!”.
