eBay is managing payments

With managed payments, eBay manages the end-to-end payments process. Your buyers can pay with more convenient payment methods, and you receive the money directly to your bank account or to your bank account via Payoneer account.

Managed payments helps sellers streamline their business on eBay, and simplifies the experience for both buyers and sellers. As a managed payments seller, you have everything you need to sell and get paid, with reports, fees, protections and support, all in one place.

What are the benefits

Managing payments simplifies the buying and selling experience on eBay by delivering multiple enhancements, such as:

Choice

Buyers have various payment options (credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, as well as other locally accepted forms of payment, depending on the listing site.)

Convenience

Access everything you need, all in one place: consolidated fees, customized reports, simplified protections, refunds and returns. If you use third-party tools, there should be no change in how you use them.

Reporting

Updated reports available for download and export from Seller Hub. Examples of reports include monthly statements, payout, order and post-transactions reports, and performance insights.

Streamlined operations

Get unique order numbers for ease of reconciliation, and returns processing.

API integration

Those who integrate using eBay APIs can view payout information.

How it works

Step 1.

A buyer purchases one of your items.

Step 2.

eBay manages the payment transaction.

Step 3.

You receive the payouts:

  • in your checking account, with no need to transfer funds between accounts

OR

  • in your checking account via Payoneer account

How to register

When you register, we'll need to verify your identity, checking account details, and company, if applicable, to allow us to initiate payouts to your selected checking account.

You can link your checking account during managed payments registration.

What if eBay can’t verify your information? eBay will notify you in My eBay messages and put an alert on your eBay account to let you know that we’re having difficulty verifying your information. In these notifications, eBay will provide details of any additional information it needs from you, and instructions on how to send it to eBay.

Accepted payment methods

Your buyers can choose from any of the following payment methods:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Discover
  • American Express
  • PayPal
  • PayPal Credit
  • Apple Pay (through the eBay app and mobile website only)
  • Google Pay (through the eBay app, mobile website and desktop)

These will automatically be added to your listings and show up as payment options at the checkout.

Getting paid

With managed payments, you receive your payouts in your chosen checking account, regardless of which payment method your buyer chooses.

eBay sends a message when your buyer has paid and it's time for you to ship your order. eBay makes the funds from your sale available within 2 business days after confirming the buyer’s payment. You may choose to receive payouts of available funds daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

If a hold is placed on your payment, there may be a delay in your payout. You can view all your Payouts activity in the Payments tab in Seller Hub or in Payments in My eBay.

There are a number of reports which all sellers can download to help reconcile your eBay sales transactions.
