Following the executive orders signed by the President of the United States, effective from May 2, 2025, 12:01 AM Eastern Daylight Time, items originating from the Mainland China and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, valued up to US$800 will no longer enjoy duty-free status and those valued at over US$2500 will require formal customs clearance.
To ensure a smooth shopping experience for buyers and maintain sellers' logistics performance, eBay is updating its shipping requirements. From the Effective Date, sellers shall need to follow the below shipping guidelines for all items located in Mainland China and Hong Kong being shipped to the United States, with a unit price of less than US$2,500 (including shipping costs):
- Items eligible for SpeedPAK Logistics Management must be shipped with SpeedPAK or commercial couriers (DHL, UPS, or FedEx).
- Items not eligible for SpeedPAK Logistics Management must be shipped with full tracking services.
- All shipments use Delivered Duty Paid (“DDP”) logistics services for customs clearance.
If sellers don’t use DDP customs clearance and disputes arise with their buyers, the sellers will be responsible for resolving them.
We urge all sellers to review their shipping methods and ensure they meet the above rules henceforth.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
eBay Team
